The YMCA in Ealing is a busy sheltered housing facility that received a refurbishment, remodelling and new build programme to modernise and extend the building and the services it provides to young people in need.

The refurbishment of 78 rooms, including the doors, skirting, architraves and MDF boxings. Installation of toilet cubicles and riser doors. Installation of Kitchens in the communal areas. 2nd fix work in the reception area, lounge and café.

The Specification was to carry out Carpentry and Joinery sub-contract works including supply and fix skirting boards to match existing, supply and fix new window boards, install new door-sets, ironmongery, internal screens at both schools but for a Labour only sub-contract throughout the Norwood School Project. The Dunraven (Upper) and The Norwood schools were a complete refurbishment of each school whilst still being occupied by students and staff, including several new structures at locations on both school grounds. The schools are located in Streatham & Norwood, Greater London, SW16 and SW19 respectively. The contracts required us to work closely with not only the Client, Architects and Main Contractor but also with M&E, dry-lining and painting sub-contractors, to ensure phases of the schools build / refurbishment were not only completed within the timescales and build programmes set, but also caused the least amount of disruption to the schools students and staff especially during examination periods. We are proud of the fact that with co-operation on site, these contracts have run smoothly from the beginning, and we overcame several complicated stages during each refurbishment assisting the contractor whenever the need arose, without adding further delays, to carry out all detailed changes at the request of the client.
